I would like to know if any out there know of a wing (to sit on as opposed to a sail-type wing) manufacturer with a set of wings for a Hobie 16; the wings are labeled [color:"red"]Sweet Wing 16 [/color], but I can't find the owner of the Hobie with these wings to ask where they came from... Any other wings for the 16 that anyone knows about?

Wow, I didn't think they actually ever sold a set of those wings! They were advertised in the Hobie Hotline for 2 or 3 months back in the 80s, for just under $1,000 a set. They looked real neat to me, but the price was just way too prohibitive. I'm sure they're long out of production, but if you like, I'll check in my old Hotline "archives" and try to find the ad.

I don't think those wings exist any more. But there is a new product (the designer refers to them as bench seats) available. Read the story announcing the new Hobie 16 Wings here.

Or click on the picture to see all the photos.

how much do those babies cost? the only drawbacks i can see are a boom taking your head off. there is no ducking while sitting on that bench. the only way to go is off the back. would be nice if there was some back support. i can see some major leverage with those benches. no need to trap.
