Looks like a slower, uglier Reynolds 33.

That's because it's built using the old Reynolds 21 molds. They apparently also got the Hobie 33 molds. According to their website.

we have been talking about this cat. I am sure it has its place. I guess if you want to give up a ton of performance, fill the hulls with ice, and go for a day cruise with 6 people, it is fine.

I personally would rather fill up my cooler and sail to the same spot with less crew, and much more performance.

using which preferred craft?

I guess at 21 feet, it's still a beachcat, right?

Yeup, great beach cat and will fit into the ORCA class rules as well.

$17K gets you a lot of NEW boat on a proven design!

Don't compare this boat to an F18. It's too heavy and complicated to setup, to use as a beach catamaran. I have watched the way owners use 20-25' multihulls for years. They either sit and rot or are used like similar sized monohulls.I would compare this boat to a J22 or a F24 that you could store in the water.

Something I did not even consider until a couple of people in Houston asked about them, PHRF racer. They were thinking "fast, cheap PHRF racer". A new boat for $18,000 with trailer and play sails is very attractive. Throw in another $5,000 for race sails and spinnaker gear and you have a racer. I wonder if a sailmaker could scale their F18 sails?

I was saying, i would rather keep my mystere, and have less crew/below deck storage. i can't see anyone spending any time in those hulls unless it was winter (cold out).

I have been on a few stiletto's and they are nice and roomie, but basically low performance.

It's kinda like the performance i would expect from a pontoon boat...(compared to a ski boat)... nice to take a lazy day out with the relatives... but i prefer to scare my crew almost to the point of soiling themselves
