Greetings, Mates!

All catamaran and trimaran owners are invited to PontYC, September 24 - 26 (racing on Saturday and Sunday).

The Gulf Yachting Association's annual Multihull Championship has always featured challenging competition and great hospitality. This year the motif will be Louisiana 'Cajun.'

Perpetual trophies include the Lewis Pollak Trophy (top GYA team), The Jim Tucker Trophy (top GYA catamaran in Fleet), the Lundquist Trophy (fastest Overall elapsed time), and the Smyth Sails Trophy (First Overall in the PHRF Division.

Bob Hodges, the event chair, is hoping to see a worthy one - design turnout (four boats for separate Class awards) of F 16s, F 18s, NACRA 20s, and "A" Class boats.

As regatta organizer, I am hoping that all multihull sailors in the south and along the Gulf Coast will consider this event. While there are three perpetual trophies for those sailors who are members of the Gulf Yachting Association, the regatta is open to all sailors and we hope to be able to give away one design awards to any class that brings 4 or more boats to the event. We hope to see that in the A-Class, F-16, F-18, and I-20 classes.

Come visit the beautiful northshore of Lake Pontchartrain and take the time to hope over to New Orleans, we guarantee a good time.

Current roll call as of 9/20/10 as far as I can tell is:

Beach Cat

Three A-Cats
Two F-16's
Three F-18's
Two I-20's

PHRF Multihull

One Sprint 750
One C-31R
One F-24 MkII

We are hoping for 1-2 more boats in PHRF and 2-4 more boats in beach cat/open portsmouth.

It's a great venue. Yacht club has great launch, great sailing conditions, pool, etc.
