his week Fergie and I took the F20c out for some fun in the last few warm days left for the season here in Holland. We had been experimenting with some full foiling tricks whilst shooting the promo video for the boat in Hyeres the week prior. Without the video crew around we took the chance to have a bit of fun with the boat. We mounted a Go Pro on the end of the spi pole and went for a blast, with around 12kts breeze it was perfect conditions to see what we could do. Clearly we are not going for speed in most of the shots, instead we wanted to get the boat lifting on the foils and see what happens when you run too much foil, and stand too far aft... The result is a lot of fun once you get used to it and we came back in with big smiles and some cool video!

Nice vid!
Is it an optical illusion because of the water or do the lee-boards bend inward quite a bit when loaded?

maybe a bit of bending...

The boards are a lot stiffer than an F18 board, so imagine how much they are bending before you break an F18 board!!

I was going to ask the same thing.

Looks like you guys were having alot of fun, and I'd like to try one someday.

Tad, you need to get on that for me....

I'm boatless.

Might be the parallax makeing it look worse than it is; remember the boards are already curved a fair way under and as soon as the boat heels they move upwards quite quickly!

its not bad to have the boards bending, its simply a factor of the loads involved.

I have seen images of Moth foils bending dramatically, and they have a total weight including human of less than 100kg, the F20c has a sailing weight of more than 300kg so you can imagine the comparative loads on the foils!

It's comparable to an F18 board in price/size ratio

Suppose the question has to be asked. How long before we see T-foil rudders.

I get this when I try to watch with a german ip:

"This video contains content from UMG. It is not available in your country."

So I try with a proxy server that leads to the result "Nacra F20 Carbon Freestyle" by nacra300 but the video window remains black and I've no loading activity.

Any hints how a german user can see that? Hm... or can you Macca publish another version without that copyright powdersnow rock *g*? Thanks!

It is not available again... Thank you Karl but it's the same UMG story. What's the idea behind that? Why can you watch it and Germany not?
