After the Thanksgiving dinner, what will you do Saturday and Sunday? For those looking for a way to work off those pounds, the Islander Holiday series continues. All this at the Islamorada Islander Resort, mm82.1, in the Florida keys. Yes, mama may be shopping Friday, but what about Saturday and Sunday? At the Halloween event we had seven boats show and six raced. We expect more boats, as they have promised, the weekend of 27 – 28 November. Again it will be: arriving Friday night or Saturday morning, getting registered and be on the water by about 11:00 am Saturday the 27th . Hotel rates remain at $99 and entry fee is $40. We will have a course for waves and or smaller boats and a course for all others. We can set up classes when there are at least 3 boats in a class, otherwise it will be an open class. Would appreciate an email reply to wgreen53@cfl.rr.com for those who have intent to race. Prior notification will make it easier to be prepared as a race committee. No, you do not have to have been at the first race to compete. And again, No, you do not have to stay at the Resort to compete. We will have awards for those who race only a single weekend. Awards at the event are based upon early notification of racing and may be delivered later with little or no notification. Scoring will be accomplished Sunday afternoon for those still around. The results of the Halloween races are as follows: When final scoring was made John Schiefer took first place in the A-Cat fleet, followed by Carla, but interesting to know, when John swapped boats, Carla won a race. In the Waves John Sherry took first place followed by Mike Black in second. Contact: wgreen53@cfl.rr.com
