Outstanding!... glad to see you are taking advantage of the AC buzz... Any chance you can officially partner with the AC organization?
This is our chance to make cat racing a mainstream endeavor in the eyes of every yacht club in the country! We need each other and the AC buzz is our ticket to the ball!
Exciting times for all of the west coast catamaran clubs and sailors! Good luck finding ways to make this a huge win win!

My first trip to San Francisco many years ago I had wondered why this was not a venue for an event like this. Finally looks like it is going to happen - awesome!
There is not a bad seat in the house.
Now if we could only get then to do a Farallon Island run!

Come and sail with us in the hotbed of catamaran sailing!
Note... this page says 2011 schedule at the top. The months and days of events are looking correct for 2011, but the dates shown on the left have "10" as the year... I'd guess in error.
Living on the border of RI, I got a good chuckle from all the media attention, public meetings, and statements from RI officials regarding the late request to pull Newport back into the mix. I don't care what anyone says, there was never a snowball's chance in hell that the AC would be held anywhere but San Fran.
From the other side of the country, there was a great article from a San Fran reporter, who is quite bitter (understandably) about the last-minute BS from the Oracle camp (pulling Newport back into the mix to extract maximum value out of San Fran).
I hate politics...

LE has been saying for years, ever since he first got into the AC game, he wants to bring the AC to SF. I wonder why anyone in SF or Newport would believe otherwise. If anything it was a bluff to get "more" out of the SF politicians.

I'm really just commenting on the media. The media around here obviously doesn't give these guys enough credit. Everyone knows it's a big game, but they publicly have to play along. Kudos to the dude in San Fran for calling out their bluff.
Sad thing is, the players in question are billionaires and really don't need the taxpayer money to fund their games.
