The Paper Tiger is almost a 7/10's scale Tornado with a hard chine hull. Right down to the centerboards. It is more like a Laser in sail controls though. It's really important to know how to use the vang.

It would make a good companion class to the Wave, for the people who like to tinker and play with lines. Similar to the Wave in size and effort to sail AND it's a owner/sailor controlled one design class.

The story I heard about where the "Paper" in the name came from was that the designer was talking with friends about how he going to build his boat. He thinking about using fiberglass tape to hold the sections of plywood together. An old sailor who overheard , said "taping a boat together! A paper boat would be stronger"

The paper tiger would be where s young glen ashby begun his cat career... I hear he's a pretty top end sailor now
