I've got about half the preregistrations checked in, which is about 35 boats. 3 boats managed to get rigged and go out sailing this afternoon. The yellow NI20, not sure who, went out and somebody promptly fell off their wire and over the boat went. They weren't far off shore, so everybody was looking right at them when it happened. One person got pretty well separated from the boat. Crew I think? The other did a pretty good job of holding the boat from drifting, so they were both pretty exhausted when they got back together. With the wind direction they would have simply washed a couple hundred yards into the shallow waters of a mangrove cove, anyway. Not like they would have washed up on the jetty.
Forecasts are all pointing to a gorgeous weekend for the regatta. I hope they are right!
