I see the Shadow has now retrofitted a larger spinnaker and spin pole configuration and adopted it as the class standard. At 102kgs, 4.8m length and 2.4m beam, 13m main and 13.5m spinny it is so similar to the F16's that the only real difference is the smaller spinny.

Have alook at http://www.shadowsailing.org.uk/the_boat_x.htm
It would be interesting to see if the mast is included in the mainsail measurement as upwind they were certainly pretty equally matched to any of the current F16's.

Build quality is stunning and lots of very innovative ideas when they were first launched back in 02

I'm interested to see how they go indeed.
It's nicely down to minimum weight without any exotic material too.
I must say the finishing on the Spitfire is not the way the Falcon is finished, so I guess the Shadow will also be less finished.

I wonder how the boat will behave with that larger spinnaker on.

So now I'm finally sailing a F16 grin
I have never seen a Falcon, so cannot comment on the finish, but White Formula have a reputation for building top class catamarans.
The Shadow is much more stable downwind with the larger spinnaker. I am much happier having it up in the stronger winds that the small one. There is less pitching and the bows are really lifted, because there is also a spinnaker pole (not on the original Shadow) to get the sail out in front of the cat.
