Hi Y'all. I'm not sure how many of you are in the Chesapeake Bay area that would like to join us, but the more the merrier. Here's the email we sent out:

Yes . . .it's that time of year again. Our annual Catsailors Invade Annapolis extravaganza.

The first annual Catsailors Invade Annapolis actually occurred in Crownsville, oddly enough. If I recall, Alec dyed his hair red, in celebration of the event. Perhaps he'll do the same this year.

The second year brought us to Ram's Head in Annapolis, where Chris kept offering to show everyone his cobra.

We returned to Rams Head a year later for more fun. Good times, Good beer. Thankfully, Chris kept his cobra in the garage. If I recall, he did a little damage in the bathroom, though.

In year #4, we opted to delve into the heart of the beast and go to Federal House Bar and Grill. Unbeknownst to me, the Federal House turns itself into a night-club at 9pm. Anyone who witnessed Chris showing up with his own card-board, taunting everyone for a "break-off" would quickly understand the immensity of this poor decision. While Chris is quite the break-dancer, it's not something we wish to ever see again.

In year #5, we slowed things down and opted for more elbow room and easier parking at Gordon Beirsch. Another good time, more good beer . . . but not quite in Annapolis.

Which brings us to Year #6. Yes, we will return to Rams Head in Annapolis. Why mess with a good thing. I only hope they have a bathroom attendant this time.

When:
Friday January 28th. Show up when you want. I suppose some will get there at 8pm, some will get there at 9pm, yet others will get there at 10pm.
I'll be going for 9pm, myself. They have a dinner menu there, if you are so inclined.

Attire:
Any sailing T-shirt . ... preferably something that represents our respective clubs. Pit-stains, rips and t-shirts from the 2000 C100 are all ok. Pants too, please.

Who:
Any and all. I don't know if I have everyone on the distribution list, so please forward this email to all interested parties. It would be great to see some faces from yesteryear as well as those that might be interested in joining us.

OK I have to respond. Just by chance my wife and I will be visiting my home town of Annapolis from our current location of Anacortes WA this weekend. We arrive late Thursday. My mothers house (where I was raised) is about three blocks from Rams Head. Is there a prize for furthest traveled!?!

So help me God . . . If I am the only one that shows up at this thing, I will load up on a few triple whoppers with cheese and head on down to Galesville for a little "lower decker" action. Trust me. You'll be sorry.

Now I feel like a total moron! The moment I submit my award winning post, an actual out-of-towner beats me to the punch with a cordial reply!

Please come an join us. If you go into Rams head, we'll all be crowded by the bar. Just look for a very large group of mostly beefy (not in the "beef-cake" way) guys wearing an odd assortment of old catamaran sailing t-shirts. The older the better.

Great Invite Mike. Wish I could deny your facts above... btw Tyler asked me or tricked me into making him that break dancing sign and then he didn't show up and sent his wife and his crew's wife instead; I think you will agree their attendance is preferable!

Yeah Yeah, going to the mens room can be an experience, just ask Faber about the "...you got to treat your body right..." discussion.

And yes, I will be taking up two parking spots right in front. Actually after that year the fight broke out and they thru one of the guys across the Cobras hood and into the street I asked them to reserve my parking spots not right in front of the door. They will surely only be able to throw him into the fender, never be able to get him onto the hood of the Tundra.

And, why yes… I am an astronaut.

Come on out, the stories Mike and I have used here, do have some elements of truth to them, in a moment of reflection, that is really sad.

Its really a great group. Which is why Mike and me about 6 or 10 years ago started this. The two of us decided to go mid-winter and get some beers and reveal in our success in not being last the previous season and how we were going to dominate the upcoming season. We then decided with two days notice to tell the rest of the group and we ended up having our first invasion. Annapoli has never been the same, mainly the plumbing....

We did include Keith, even though it was against our better judgment.

If you hear this "And, why yes… I am an astronaut." then you know you're with the right group.

Mike, Mike, Mike. Don't pretend that you need an excuse to do what you do every weekend anyway.

Also, the triple Whopper thing has become so passe'. Man up:

And Chris, as for the guys "fighting" on your "Cobra", well we told you not to park it where it would draw attention.

Oh, and I'll be there. If that doesn't keep the rest away then there should be great attendance!

To help on the astronaut front, I'm bringing a friend whose launch has been delayed until late February. He has a little time on his hands until then.

Chris....this is NOT an invitation for you to bring your bacon. Leave it home with your cobra.

I'm sorry . . . I have a problem with the simple fact that the "why not use a walmart tarp" thread has has more exposure and life than this thread. WTF. Is it that much to ask a bunch of guys to get together for a few beers!

It's apparent you highly overestimate my crewing abilities. It's been a while, Chris. My new "crew" duties largely consist of sitting there comfortably, drinking some beer, getting some sun, and lots of name calling. Perhaps I'll find me my own crew. A package deal.
