Hi all

recently I was sailing in Lake Charles, LA. I don't know what wind speed I had then but enough to make one hull fly pretty high. I took with me a GPS and was monitoring my speed just to have an Idea of how fast the wave can go. With those wind conditions I could get a peak speed of 11.3 knots. Do you have an Idea of how faster it can go?

Luis

I was just looking at hobie.com, they state 17MPH as the top speed.

I noticed that they even _rent_ Waves in Hood River! I presume someone is paying attention to the windspeed
and not letting novies out in 20+ conditions (dodging kiteboards, sailboards, barge traffic, etc).

I joined the Vancouver Lake Sailing Club (on Vancouver Lake of course). I have also been to Cascase Locks (highly recommended) and
to Nehalem Bay (lots of current with the tide changes!) We should get together sometime for a sail.

I had a great time on lake chelan. I did clock 14.1 mph on my gps that was off wind with a jib and I sat as far aft as possable. That was in late Aug. Then last week I raced my Wave in the Lake Chelan sailing regatta now that was alot of fun I didn't do very well but I just need to practice a bit.My wave performed pretty well it blew about 12 with gust to 20 I was able to keep up with the others on the gust but the luls I lost way. I was the only Wave there so I was in the open class along with a Inter 17 and a Prindle 20 not the best match up but I surprised them with my speed on the gust. After the race there were lots of sailors checking my Wave out, they all liked it alot.I hope that Wave sailors get out there and race its ablast. Id like to sail or race lake Vancouver or just sail with another Wave so let me know when. I'm about 3 to 4 hrs away.

I live on Lake Conroe, TX. Two days ago we had some good wind blowing so I decided to take my GPS out and sail for about an hour and a half. With my 210 lbs plus my 85 lb labrador retriever and stock sail, we hit a top speed of 13.8 mph. Winds were pretty gusty so we would get a wild ride for a way then things would drop off to a milder speed but, we did average almost 7 mph for a 7.5 mile round trip. That's about the best I've done so far not having sailed at all until this March.

Pete
