I destroyed my tiller extension last weekend and need to replace the tubing. So far I've tried the home depot conduit aisle and tubing for pnuematic racks with no luck. Anyone have any ideas on where I can get the proper sized piece of aluminum tubing?

Thanks,
Jeff.

Firstly I would have a look inside Rick's online shop above. Then if that doesnt work for you, you can obtain kevlar/carbon tiller extensions from CST (http://www.compositespars.com/)or Ctech (http://www.c-tech.co.nz/producttube.htm) or Windrush online. If you are really interested in carbon/kevlar you can also try the 49er or Ronstan supplier in your country.
Look also in hardware stores for aluminium tubing or look up the "yellowpages" If you choose the aluminium just dont straighten the aluminium on the water if it bends wait till your ashore.

If you like light aluminum sticks, the Murray Pro stick is great but it's $80 USD. If that is what you broke, I have had NO luck finding the raw stock to replace just the inner tube I always break.

Here is my fix. Save the end plug from the Murray that pins to your crossbar. Get a boat hook from West Marine and remove the hook. It is good quality aluminum and the outer tube is the bigger one. This allows you to wrap it for better grip. I use hockey stick tape - cheap, light, and waterproof. The plastic plug fits EXACTLY. Two rivets and your done! You can break 3 of these for the price of a new Pro Stick!

You can also get a boat hook that is EXACTLY the Murray core (made by Davis Instruments) from SailNet for $22.50. I haven't actually seen this one but the description looks right.

I was in a TrueValue hardware store this weekend and saw a telescoping aluminum broom handle for $18. It looked like it would work perfectly by changing the end fitting.
