Just wanted to say hello, and that at last I have found someone with an N17 that is very similar to my recent purchase, I'm told my boat was imported from Aus to the uk sail no: 181. anyways I'm sure i will need to ask your advice on somethings in the future if thats ok.

Regards

Richard

i will also be trying to attach a spi to my N17, an F18 friend has kindly donated a spi pole with snuffer shoot, it would be handy to how Alex gets on with mounting the thing, whether to go under or over the very front beam?

Richard.

oh..... i've just thought of something else, i plan to disaseemble the boat for winter storage and wondered if you have ever done this before? i have on a Hobie Tiger but that has hatch covers close to each beam, but my 17 only has them at the rear, is this some thing i should attempt or is it not possible to your knowledge?, sorry for the barrage of questions.

Rich.

Hi Rich, can't answer for the dis-assembly, but Alex is making a bridal and forestay for his Inter, I'll get some pics of his progress.

Why are you thinking about hatch covers? As on my Inter 18 you probably have no nuts just the screws. There is a solid thread inside the hulls.

[SRY my tech englich is even worse than the regular one]

Spi - to try out the system you can have the line over the front beam.

The accurate way is to let the sailmaker put a hole with a ring into the trampoline and be under the beam and tramp. Then the line runs nicely in line out of the snuffer bag and will not touch or harm s.th. In the end that also helps to have a cleaner workspace on the tramp.
