laugh Brevard County, FLorida, (Melbourne and Cocoa Area) is organizing a sailing instruction program as shown Below. This is monohull program, but might be able to be expanded with interest. Inluded will be basic racing rules segment.

Brevard County Summer Sailing Program
Brevard County Parks and Rec, Indian River Yacht Club, and Boaters Exchange Sailing School are pleased to announce their summer sailing program,

Open to youth 13-17 and adults 18 and up. 

Summary:       A sailboat training program focused on teaching interested youth & adults.

Sponsors:       Brevard County Parks and Recreation,
                       Boaters Exchange, a local boat dealer and ASA sailing school.
                        Indian River Yacht Club, a local not-for-profit promoting sailing and sailing events.

Location:          Griffis Landing at Blue Crab Cove, Merritt Island (State Road 520 at Indian River , East side of Indian River and North of 520)

Training Boat:  Geary 18, an 18-foot sailing keelboat sloop with 22” draft.

Curriculum:      2 programs, each featuring 4 days of training:
1. Monday through Thursday, 9 am – 1 pm
2. 4 consecutive Saturdays, 9 am – 1 pm

Number of Students: 6-8 students per class, with 4 student minimum.

Cost:                $120 per student (includes book and daily snack).

Start Dates:       Program 1: Monday, June 6, 2011, And Program 2: Saturday June 11, 2011
