Hi!

Im desperate to find a good Hobie Wave deal in Europe. Since its rather rear boat type here, its very hard to find any decent one with reasonable price-tag.

Anyway, I found one seller, who finally send me the photos from the boat and I discovered that in overall its not a brilliant boat, but looks more or less in running order.

But one thing troubles me most, a crack on the hull that starts just from the corner of the crossbeam hole. Please look the picture and tell me is it a deadly shot, or is there anything to do with that? Is it possible to repair in a way that this would last for a years and in that case, how to do it?

Or is it a walk away boat? I have to mention that the price also does not correspond to condition of this boat... But maybe it isnt so bad...?

Thanks a lot,
agur

Need to post that over at Hobie forum. Here.

Several threads there about nicks and cracks in rotomolded. Usually nothing can be done or used to permanently repair a nick or crack. That looks pretty bad to me. The only question is whether it might be in a place that is structurally solid and where it will not grow. If so, you could keep the crack filled with caulk to at least keep water out. I doubt it, but that question is for the tech reps.

I have owned about 5 Waves and one had a crack like that. Hobie replaced the hull.
I think that is a walk away.

yes, its seems to me same... If I got through those pictures again, I realized (well, put away my pink sunglasses :)), that unfortunately the previous owner didn`t care much about that boat...

since its Sweden, it doesn`t make sense either for me to take this rather expensive ferry trip to check out "in live".

thanks for the advice!
