I am curious to know what others have done to keep the snuffer hoop stable and level on their Infusions. My midpole snuffer hoop tends to droop down a bit normally. When I launch the kite, the snuffer hoop will pull up with the tension of the uphaul. On my boat, there is only a round metal rod that sticks into a hole in the aft end of the spin pole, so the pole is prone to rotate.

Its not a big deal, but this movement makes the spin pole a poor place for attaching a GoPro camera. I also suspect the snuffer would work a little better it it was level, not hanging down.

What do you do to keep your Infusion suffer hoop level?

There should be a small line that goes from the outboard most spot on the snuffer hoop to the forestay bridle attachment point on the hull. With adequate tension, this line will keep the hoop from rotating up or down during hoists and douses.

That seems so simple, even my small brain should have thought of this. I will give it a try. Thanks for the lighting fast response!

It is better to tie a line around the spin pole in front of the snuffer and then run the line in the snuffer groove (the groove the bag goes in) and out to the hull where the main bridles attach.

I thought you said your line was from the outer most part of the snuffer. The early version was to drill a hole in the outer most part of the snuffer ring then run a line from that hole to the forestay bridle. The problem was the snuffer ring was so thin the line would pull through and crack the snuffer. The newer version is to not drill the hole and run the line from the spin pole through the snuffer groove to the forestay bridle. I thought you were talking about the old version.
