I'm curious about how folks arrange the downhaul and rotation control lines so they can use them effectively from the trap.

I was sailing on Sunday uni. I've got the tails for both the downhaul and rotation limiter deadended to the chainplates. It was gusty, and I couldn't get to the downhaul quick enough to effectively depower.

Do most folks just carry a loose tail out on the trap with them? This seems like a lot of stuff to manage getting out on the trap (tiller, mainsheet and now downhaul)

I was thinking about the possibility of dead ending the tails to the trap handle...not sure if that would create too much of a spider web though. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff.

Jeff,

I have the ends of my rotation and downhaul tied together so that they form a loop. The loop goes around the shroud to keep it handy and you can crouch in and grab it while on trap.
