Want to upgrade the mainsheet on my Nacra 5.2. Now using a 5:1 old Harken system and want to upgrade to a higher ratio for easier hull flying use. I still like Harken, but not sure how much more ratio or system type. 6:1, 7:1 or 8:1. What do you suggest?
Thanks, Mike

I replaced my old Seaway 6:1 with a Harken Ratch-o-Matic 8:1 and absolutely love it. I have no trouble holding the sheet when the wind is too powerful to leave it cleated.
This is on an 18' boat. I imagine a 6:1 could be enough leverage with your smaller sailplan.

8:1 Carbo sounds very good to me. I was hoping that's what you would say. Thanks for the offer Theo, but these old arms need all the purchase they can get for holding that hull up in the air.
