When figuring the scores we neglected to do one step in the instructions and it skewed the results. And we will have a story with pictures posted on the Headline Page before noon.
Here are the Official Results:

Does Dave smell that bad you had him sit all the way in the back? Geeze, Rosa Parks, that can't be fast...

Team Seacats is pretty stoked with that day 2, carbon-fiber-glory-boy killing, 2nd place result! It was a great weekend of really close racing...tons of fun.

Would Steeplechase be survive-able singlehanded?

I'm boatless.

Hard to get used to that number after racing N-20 ..huh?

Karl, Yes I think it would be survivable singlehanded, but the only person I've seen attampt it was Randy on Sew sew. Not sure if Rick will let mere mortals attempt it single handed. What say ye oh fanny pack wearing great one?

It's not Rick it's Mary you'll have to get past. Mary has been very firm on the no singlehanders rule and I suspect she permitted Randy under protest.

see my earlier post re: ugly girl at prom night. Cullum gave me a last minute call, right after I turned in the kitchen pass so momma could visit her folks out of town. That'll teach me to give those things up without a fight....

Dave, you hit the nail on the head.
And the reason was the sailing world almost lost Rick Bliss, single-handing a Prindle 19 that capsized off Rodriguez Key. He could not right the boat. And it was blowing offshore. After quite a while he was helped.
But, suppose there had been no one there. We would have lost a great person from our midst. She has never forgotten that.

Hmmm! And Randy definitely got in after much haggling and even then extremely reluctantly. Perhaps she doesn't like Randy????
Ergo! If you are allowed to sail it single, watch that Mary doesn't have a life insurance policy on you. ha ha

Big thing is we really do NOT want any casualties. If you remember the 13th Annual on Saturday the 13th, 45 boats started, and three finished. Boats and bodies were washing ashore all over the Keys. And Mary was the one the authorities jumped on. That is why the registration asks for all the colors of your PFDs, sails, boats, jock straps, or whatever. We need to identify the bodies.
That year a boat was lost to the sea and almost a sailor. His flotation wasn't enough in the seas and wind so as he saw a crap pot, he would cut the line and use each one for more support. And finally he realized he was blowing out to sea, he held on to one. He was found and rescued -- the boat wasn't.
Rick

I crewed for a buddy (X-Ray Ted) on a N6.0 w/spin. I never put a spin on the H20 and doing the Steeplechase without a headsail is just crazy talk. Kudo's to the N5.8 that did it the hard way this year.

wasn't there two guys who bought an H-16 the day before and then sailed Steeplechase? I think I recall us all watching them finish at sundown day 1 and about sundown day 2 (we were all in by 3:00). THAT'S crazy...

That was my second Steeplechase. First one I finished at about 9pm on a Prindle 19 (no chute). The high tech boats finished at like 3pm that year. I saw the light and bought a chute for my boat after that.
