She got hit in the eye by a mettle trap handle, had to go to the beach, thus their DNS's for the rest of the day, I'm glad she didn't get seriously hurt and was able to sail Sunday. I'm going to remove my mettle dogbones and put something safer on there, I nearly took out a tooth!

A friend of mine has taken dynema and wrapped it in plastic tubing (after his gf took one to the head) to replace dog-bones. They have held up for a few seasons now

Ouch....when I started racing with crew, I had to learn not to let the trap go and replaced my dogbones with these.

It amazes me that anyone uses metal dogbones anymore. Haven't enough teeth been broken?

It's nice having 2 settings without having to do any adjusting when racing single handed. Of course, there is no crew to ping. I've never seen "soft" dogbones but the opportunity exists.

It amazes me how many people(veterans and newbies alike) just unhook and let go of the dogbone. Proper trap etiquette is a learned behavior that's lesson is usually a dogbone to the head or a death threat from the one you just hit.

Larger transoms than the Infusion.

More angular lines.

Bow flare to max hull width was tapered over a longer distance than the Infusion - more like a C2.

Overall a nice boat. The boat at Tradewinds has been raced a lot. I'm sure a "new" boat from VectorWorks will be a first rate build quality.

? I don't think there is a Vectorworks.

Falcon Marine is building an F18 I believe but they aren't connected with Cirrus as far as I know.

Matt must have just been delivering those 8 to 12 Cirrus masts he left Tradewinds with to somewhere else then? ;-)

Dunno, I learn something new everyday!

Things may be a little clearer at Springfever. Maybe.

Matt left Vectorworks in 09 and started Falcon Marine. They are 2 separate places doing different things.

Pretty sure there is nothing going on with Cirrus and I know no plans are in place to build the R in the US. I have seen some first draft drawings, so I do not think i am stepping out of line with saying there is an F18 from Falcon in the works

Inquiring minds that weren't there want to know what happened to the SquidPig. I assume it was epic.

No relation between the Cirrus R and Falcon Marine. I let Bret and Kenny take her on her first run and they loved it. We did some fine tunung on Saturday afternoon and it worked out pretty well.
The dog bone thing was an isolated incident, wasn't a problem on Sunday.
