Just wondering if the difference between the stock beam Taipan 4.9 (7’-8 ¼”) and the F16HP (8’-2”) maximum has been tested on the racecourse yet? There has been quite a discussion on the Open forum about the advantage of increased beam. I was curious to see what the real world results were in comparison to the theoretical numbers. Especially for the Taipan. Does it appear that the 5” ¾” makes a difference? Or does it point to the need to go the full maximum trailer width of 8’-6” to get measurable increase? Has anyone maxed out the beam on a Taipan 4.9 other than Wouter? (which I believe is still not on the water). Did it make a measurable difference?
