I won't be able to crew but I might have a room I won't be using at Palm Court Motel if someone wants it. $90/night. It took two days for him to get back to me so I am not sure if he still has it reserved for me or not but I have his cell phone number.

I would love to, even looked at plane ticket prices. If you know of a cheap way down from Boston I would be there in a second.

To expensive to fly last minute from Cali. $800 is just too much.

Todd I do smell funny, but you can only tell when the wind stops blowing, and it looks to be windy all day!

Great conditions. Looks like 10-15+ for the weekend. The water is about 75 and the air has been in the mid 80s. Another tough winter day here in Florida.

If you want to follow conditions here's a weather report from the end of the pier at Clearwater Beach. Note that this will be different weather from the start at Davis Island.

Clearwater Weather from Pier 60

General marine forecast for the coastal area.

A "cold" front is currently predicted to pass by Saturday and/or Sunday. The temp may plummet from mid-80s to mid-70s (burr!) and start back up toward 80 on Sunday. Right now the wind is predicted to shift from SW to W as the front pass overhead.

Note that I said "may" as our weather predictions are often just a toss of the dice. My rule is to read the prediction and then I tell myself, "You'll know it when you see it."

Here's one more fairly reliable weather site.

Here is my favorite weather monitoring site:
WUnderground Clearwater Pier

It's nice because you can go back further than most.
