what are the dimensions of the hobie 16 or 18 trampoline? I just bought a Freestyle 474 in Big Bear City CA and am trying to get it ready for the water on the cheap...

I'm just going to come out and say it, NO. It'll more than likely a jury rigged mess and not work. Have someone make you a tramp using the old one as a pattern.

Do the Glaser's make tramps?

I'm boatless.

Well I really wasn't talking about trying to use the hobie piece directly but more like just trying to find out the dimensions of a hobie tramp. The idea was to buy a cheap hobie tramp on ebay for like $50 and have it cut and sewn to fit on the 474. How much does tramp fabric cost new? I would go with the ones linked, but I've been told that having only lacing on one side that it will stretch and sag. Appparently the 474 originally had a tramp with bolt rope on two sides adjacent to each other and lacing on the other two sides....so it could be kept tight in both directions.

Tramp material is cheap.

If you cut out the tramp, lay it out and then pin or tape everything together so that the sailmaker only has to sew it together, they will only charge you a couple of hours labor. I use thin beads of hot glue or heat applied tape to hold everything together.

You can sew it yourself. A home machine will sew it easily. The learning curve is steep. I think my first one took 10 hrs and my second one about 2 hours to sew and for my third one $100 in labor at the sailmaker seemed cheap.

Took a closer look at the SLO sail website. I was short sighted at first, but they do have non-bias cut tramps with lacing on two sides for a Freestyle 474....my bad. After thinking it over, time is money and $300 isn't bad for one. Although Im going to have them make me one without grommets, with a tubes for lacing.
