My Dr. recommended calorie counting. I've lost 7 lbs in three weeks which is a miracle! I've never experienced this kind of weight loss before and I'm not hungry all the time.

Pete,
Thanks for posting this. I decide last week that I needed to get on the ball and loose a bunch of weight that has been slowly accumulating. Then Monday morning I got a call that my younger brother was in the hospital due to a heart attack. He ended up getting angioplasty with 2 stents placed. He's doing well but it has motivated me even more and I think that a tool like this will help. This seems like a very easy way to keep track of the calories in and out.

It is definitely helping me (except for yesterday, forget about yesterday!).

Years ago a Dr. friend told me the American diet is so rich you could run a marathon, have a fast food mega meal after and gain weight! Who knew a PBJ was 600 CALORIES!

I'm targeted for 1810 calories daily and most days come around 1600+. Ya gotta watch big restaurant breakfasts. Over 1900 calories!

Cutting the calories is only part of the story, good excercise to burn the extra calories is needed as well. Can anybody recommend a set of excercises that suit all the pulling of ropes and flinging ourselves off the side onto trapezes that we do.

At the start of each season I seem to be getting sore shoulders muscles and a tennis elbow of sorts which never really abates through the season. I put it down to the sailing and mtbing I'm doing more in the summer, are there any excercise sets which can counter these symptoms ?

A year ago February I was peaked out at 235 pounds. I am now 184 pounds.., 21 pounds lighter than when I played high school football -- fullback, tight end on offense and nose guard/linebacker on defense.
I did not go on a diet. I did not do any more exercise. I did not count calories, nor did I use Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Jennie Criag, or any other device. And I should say I have used all or most of those in the past and lost weight, but gained it back immediately.
So, How did I do it?
Hypnotism!
When I was doing the Rick White Sailing Seminars I learned to do hypnotism and used it on some of my students. Actually, most of the Olympic hopefuls utilize it in their training and for their events.
I finally realized I could use it to lose weight by totally changing my eating habits. And it worked and is still working.
It is pretty easy to do. And easy to learn how to do self-hypnotism.
Rick

There you go... That explains some of the zombies on the course! You didn't command them to eat brains when you snap your fingers, did you?

I just got back from the gym. The 'puter says that in 6 years of membership I've lifted over 400,000 lbs and spent more than 10,000 minutes on CV machines.

Shouldn't I be a twig by now?

10,000 minutes over 6 years is 3/10ths of 1% of your time. You may need to step it up a bit! grin

OMG! I'm "inappropriate", post too early and spend too much time at the gym! My mother must be rolling over in her grave. Or not...

Ah, now I get it! Troll= anything someone doesn't understand. Synonymous with inappropriate and politically incorrect. Antonym: bigot.
