Dear Fellow Sailors,
The newly formed, Multihull Championship Committee is remaining dutiful in its effort to modernize the Hobie Alter Championship. Our goal is to meet the new US Championship conditions and to perpetuate the Multihull Championship in the finest fashion for the finest sailors in the years to come.
We have had to make necessary changes in our approach due to circumstances which seemed to make our task hopeless early on, but thanks to the dedication of the voting members, our Secretary, Laura Sullivan, and our sub committee advisors, we have gained much ground.
One change we voted on, April 19 was to suspend Area Semi Finals for 2012. We felt our efforts to stabilize and correct the format for the semis would require a year for R & D, especially with the impact of AC and Olympic drama.
As chair, I am requesting you understand and support our decision to remain patient. We only wish for your future to be the best it can be.
