Time to do Raid Ybel again and see if we can take some time off last years run. Jay? Anyone?

Open, except for this weekend. Be sure to check your make up, I just bought a Go Pro.

I keep wanting to mount a GoPro to the underside of a hull behind the daggerboard. It'd be a cool shot when the hull lifts clear of the water.

Probably a death sentence for the camera though. Damage or loss is pretty likely I think.

I'm boatless.

I see a lot of them mounted forward of the spin pole. Is that a stock item you can buy or are people just cobbling stuff together?

First thing I want to buy is a tripod. An egret stops by every year about this time and helps himself to my goldfish and I want to get it on video.

I use a section of broken spin pole (seems that I have a lot of that laying around) taped to the spin pole to get the camera out in front. In a pinch, you could probably cut a piece of broom stick for the same result.

I dunno, seems like expensive kit to be hanging off the end of a broom stick.

Mine does have it's own pfd, so IF I remember to attach a tether all should be good. I have heard of one Go Pro at the bottom of the Atlantic, or maybe it was the Gulf.

There's clamps you can get. Tie a safety line to it for sure.

A lot Karl? Really? Way to play it down. Beth's C2 should be named "99 spin poles, but straight ain't one"

I have the suction cup mount. I mounted it on the inside of the hull near to/tied to the bridle. It worked great until I dove the hull down and the camera got tilted towards the water. Next I put it on top of the hull in the same general location and it worked great. I did get the spin sheet caught on it once though.

I can't talk. I've got a pile of expensive broken carbon tiller extensions.

I've heard they are easily fixed.

I wouldn't think the adjustable ones would be too easy. Maybe? Plus I just keep cutting them down until I can't reach em anymore, then replace just the inner part. I've only had one explode the whole length.

I broke the outside sleeve of my carbon Hobie hot stick and it was easily repaired. I repaired it the way Jake described and it turned out well. I also repaired my battlestick and sleeved it the way Bret told me to and I'm very pleased with the repair. I also figured out how to make it perfectly straight. If it wasn't straight I'd never hear the end of it from Bret.
