If you'll notice I said both ... for good - for now...come to think of it I really said nothing besides the fact that I was saddened that they were out of business in that post. Damn, you guys are a sensative bunch.

The whole Smyth drama seems to be quite a touchy subject... with good reason.

Instead of wondering why/where/how/when, we should be asking ourselves....Who else makes great sails????

I'm in the market for a new sq top main..... but not sure who to call.

Not worried about warranty on those new Smyth sails are we Doug? It sucks that you had to wait so long for the sails and then the sailmaker goes out of business.....

I agree with Jake. The original question was from a concerned consumer, who purchased sails recently and would like to know some information about the business status of the manufacturer.

I believe it was not intended to find out any more "dirt" than to know what is going on, especially for warranty work and/or tuning information.

In our neck of the woods, there isn't any source for cat sailing information other than what's online. Besides, I thought that this forum was for this purpose anyway???

I would email or call him directly. I don't think it's my place to divulge information about a company that has been passed to me via quiet "channels"
