Probably, but they're just expensive, I'd bet the L rudders, ans S fools are double the cost of the Viper boards/blades.

I'm boatless.

ETNZ's AC72 has chosen for foils that are, well, straight as a board really.
Their wells do look quite large so who knows what they will end up with on race day.

I know that some will say I am biased, but the viper boards are some of the most robust i've been around. Towards the end of the video above the guys run the boards into the ground at near full speed, no issues with the boards or cases. Im happy answer any questions you have but what I can say without any questions is that the viper is one of the most robust boats out there.

If you're building your boards to be run aground at full speed, they're over built. That's not their purpose.

I've hit a sand bar in Duniden at full blast with two on the wire with no damage, but a pile if rocks, or a reef is a different story.

I'm boatless.

Yes Mr. A cat that is 100% true, but you own an F18 now so you can distance race again and my money says you're gonna find the bottom on occasion. You'll be very happy to exercise your carbon skills to get back on the water rather than writing momma a check for $1200 (assuming you only trash one). So I say, I sail a heavy boat by class rules, over build it please!

Welcome to the party? Have you developed the skill to do a double trap spin reach in chop in a short boat yet? It would make me sad to say "Todd was behind us when we came out of Angle Fish then we never saw him again". Okay, it wouldn't make me sad but it would distract me from my rummy.

Everything I have hit, except Dave Carlson, at full speed involved writing a check instead of carbon repair.Especially coral heads. My point was that they are probably being a little more cautious with the s and t foils than Karl the II, would be on his viper.

The short boat thing may be an issue, we'll see. I'm still kicking and screaming but I'm there. And the main reason is my old 20 competitors. You better tighten up, you're presently in the crosshairs. Now I just need to find a Dalton for myself.Any ideas?

I hear that Dalton is getting tired of winning all the time, so he may be interested in sailing with you! grin

I'm pretty sure I could help him with that problem.

The King Ding thing is almost reassuring in a psych ward kind of way.

thanks for the reply Karl and dr5e14w ... I love my 5.5 but lifting that mast made with antimatter, and rolling that 700lb boat up the beack (only 450 without a cooler) is getting old...

I think a viper may be my next boat ...

???? If your moving to a 16 then you want a Falcon.
Still less weight even with the cooler - and built in the US

Stagnation is bad Chris, and after hearing about that beast of a sailing god you got for crew, I had to run scared. Anyone at west river actually looking to buy a 20? I can hook 'em up.

He scares me too... Almost got him over not having a self-tacker

"What in the, I say what in the name of Jesse James do you suppose that is"

As for selling your N20, would that be that off color sorta perty blue one? "What’s it all about boy, elucidate!"
Email the details, yes we have at least one team looking around to join us...

You're getting a new leader this year. Oh and we need a treasurer if anyone is interested. If you need a nomination let me know I'll happily throw your name in the hat.

My name is nobody and I can't wait!

Glad I've got all the N20 skippers running for the hills. Especially the ones at West River who can't still can't keep up when my hand touches the tiller.

I'll go loose 10 lbs so I can scare the F18 skippers as well. Oh wait, that'll cut into my drinking allotment. Anyone want to start an F20c fleet. Then we can really complain about $1200 daggerboards!
