Has this been covered somewhere already? First I've seen of these two new boats, in my Sailing World mag which showed up yesterday.

It looks pretty interesting, any of you guys up in Newport (RI) seen it up close? I guess it will be in Miami for the Sailboat Show in Feb.

The 25' was at the Newport and Annapolis Boat Shows. I believe it's in Europe now doing a boat show tour there (Paris, Dusseldorf, etc).
I outfitted the boat with all of it's cordage (Marlow), so I saw the boat throughout production. The guys that built it (Warren Light Craft) are amazing boatbuilders. The carbon hulls and everything else about the boat are of the highest quality.
They are planning on building a few 25s early 2013, not sure on the timeframe on the 15'.
Very cool boat. The owner Pete is VERY enthusiastic and a great person to be promoting a boat like this. If your interested I would suggest dropping him a line, he's happy to chat about it.

How will the performance stack up against the Farrier 22 or new Corsair Dash 750? What is the suggested PHRF rating for the vehicle?

It would be nice seeing one at the Trimaran Nationals on Pensacola Bay in late April or the next year out of FWYC.

Kudos for Ross Stein (C 24 - Origami) and BAMA getting some cool ink in that issue as well.

Saw the boat at the Annapolis Boat Show, finish quality was immaculate, looked like a really fun ride. Pete was very enthusiastic about the product. I could definitely see the market for a 3-4 person trailerable, all out performance round the buoy's boat. Only issue is price (always), not going to win over many J24 or J80 owners

I'm just not sure why you would do the tri over a 25' catamaran though...

Trailer-ability and set up time. I wanted to get into a bigger multihull, big cat or tri. The one thing that kept me from going to a bigger cat, was the set up time. I watched the Roberts doing their thing, setting up their RC27/30's at the Mug race years ago, that fixed it for me.

I want to be able to trailer in to the location, rig up and be on the water in an hour or less, even when alone. I'm still liking the F28R, or an F25C, now...if I could just get the wife to leave me...

Ellen McArther sailed a 75' trimaran around the world, solo, non-stop.

I'm not at all worried about the sailing alone part. It's the pain in the butt setting it up and taking it down alone, that bothers me. I've seen how quickly the Corsairs can be set up, from trailer to water in about 30 minutes, and the larger ones have a cabin down below for weekending.

If I'm going to spend that kind of money, (40-50K) I need something I can sleep on, because I won't have any money left for a motel!

In the context of this Motive trimaran - you'll not get it to the water any faster than a cat.

What you need, Timbo, is somewhere with mast-up storage. Then it wouldn't matter what cat vs. tri you buy.

And you could build box-zilla like Karl #2 and live in that. Although the A/C window unit sticking out of the side and the clothes hanger TV antenna might be a dead giveaway...
