Hi All

The return to the Olympics and US Olympic sailings enhanced focus on youth development is changing the scene for junior multihull sailing.

Multihull sailors are now fully part of the the youth system and are part of the elite Youth Champs.

Applications were extend by a week per the MHRC request.

Sailors apply and are selected on their resume. so... what helps the resume?
Clinics!

Please spread the word down to your young sailors (cat or dinghy) that Youth Clinics and Training camps are great opportunities to raise your competitive game and get noticed.

One of the longstanding high profile dinghy clinics has now added F16's..

* Sail Newport's 2013 Brooke Gonzalez Advanced Racing Clinic will be held for the 12th year on June 13-16 in Newport, RI. Applicants 14 -18 years of age are selected based upon their resume. This is a very intense, high-level program held in Lasers and Laser Radials, International 420's, Club 420's, Bytes and multi-hull F16's. Deadline for applications is April 1, 2013. Details here: http://www.sailnewport.org/Clinics/gonzalezclinic

Rumor is that Richard Feeney is the coach.
(their PR sucks) applications close April 1.

Red Gear Racing has announced a grant program for their clinics. Their applications close shortly. Robbie Daniel is the head coach there.

In past years, the CISA clinic in California has run Hobie 16 clinics .... This years program is closed and does not include a cat class. So that is something for the west coast sailors to take a look at revitalizing.

The Pacific Northwest is planning on Hobie 16 junior clinics this season.

I suspect few kids bother with cat sailor so please reach out and spread the word.... If not this year... prepare for next year's selection process.
