This event began in 1937 and has been one of the sixteen events during the year for the Gulf Yachting Association's inter - club Capdevielle Series sailed in Flying Scots.

StABYC, site of the 2012 F 16 NAs, with the assistance of the GYA Multihull Council, will be adding a circle for beach cats and Lasers for the first time.

If you live within striking distance, join the new Olympic hopefuls, Taylor Reiss and Matthew Whitehead, for a weekend of excellent racing. The regatta is open to any beach cat and will be scored on Portsmouth. Randy Smyth will be among the five or so A Cats, and Darren Bundock will be on hand to share some insight on the Red Bull Youth America's Cup. There will also be a fine dinner/fundraiser held at the club on Saturday night.

Visit StABYC and see the NoR http://www.stabyc.com/getattachment/Waterfront/Racing/2013-Racing/Candler-NOR-2013-(3).pdf.aspx

Congrats to Sarah Streater and Robbie for the fine sailing this weekend. Ben Moon led Bob Hodges and the rest of the A Cats around the course, and breakfast with Darrin and Matthew this am was family fun. By the way, Laura and Ding were there to sustain the credibility of the F 18. The C2 team had a bit of trouble staying on the boat yesterday :-) but led the way at the first weather rounding in today's only race. The N 17 looks real close to the F 18 so our provisional rating turned out fair to all.

Nigel and Emily (Viper) were in second after four races yesterday, but a wind arrival delay this morning prevented them from moving up the ladder. Sarah and Robbie nailed it with Taylor and Katie in second. Laura and Dave finished a strong third.

Maybe NACRA will consider allowing rudder wings on the N 17. The A cats have them for stability during bear aways when going airborne.

Elapsed times will be forwarded to US Sailing for review.

I just got the results from the club and discovered that Sarah and Taylor tied. Sarah scored an OCS, and therefore Taylor and Katie won.

Great event with an amazing facility and an awesome body of water to sail on and a cool little downtown only a mile away. It will be tough to find an execuse not to do this one next year.

We plan to be back for the Caterwaul in a few short months which could be a great F18 America's warm up. It's likely that storage could be arranged if you wanted to leave your boat until F18 America's the following month.

The NOR isn't available yet but the dates are September 27, 28 and 29 with Friday Sept 27 as an optional day like Spring Fever for everyone expect the N17 fleet.

I just wanted to get this one on your radar.
