Does the temperature have any effect on fiber-glass (below 32F)? For example: if I was going to store it out-door but covered for the winter time? (Chicago)

In “Help with Nacra 5.2” Jake mention hull fitting cradles. I don’t have those on my trailer? My NACRA 6.0 (hopefully) will be stored in-door, so should I buy those and install on my trailer? I think than someone mention in earlier posting that storing your catamaran on trailer rollers might cause deformation of hulls.

I found those cradles in Murrays.com catalogue on page 58. Are there any other suppliers where I can find those hull cradles?

Thanx

Kris

there was a thread a while back where we talked in depth about how to build your own cradles. You should be able to search for it. Briefly a couple of them were:

A) w/ boat upside down, lay copious amounts of plastic on hulls, cut a piece of carpet and lay fuzzy side to hull, fiberglass the heck out of it, fiberglass a wood block to backside once that cures and bolt to trailer.

B) get some of the big thick wall PVC, cut in halves, heat in oven to make it soft, lay on upside down hull and let cool, coat with carpet.

C) go buy some.

you know what would work too, if you didn't want to heat the pvc in the oven, is lay copious amounts of aluminum foil down on your hull, then heat the pvc with a heatgun gently until it becomes mushy then put it on the hull.
