I am have trouble with up wind performance
my diamond stays are loose on the windward side when going up wind
would any one what tension would be suggested
I am still trying to tune my boat before wild cat regatta

Gary and i will tune your boat when u get there.
The windward diamond is normally loose going upwind. Comes down to 1. how heavy you are, 2 cat or sloop, 3 rake.

it would be much appreciated any help would be great
it gets frustrating when you beat up wind to watch the fleet past you by only to then to pass them down wind then on the next leg only to fight to stay a head of some of the fleet only to pass them down wind again
PS I don't have a loos gauge to test the diamond wires this tension may need adjusting

Yeah it's a bit complicated to fix here, better to look at the boat. Angle of diamonds, attachment points to mast, all effect what is the right tension. Then there is how much rotation you are using etc. I am not keen on real floppy windward diamond but certainly most go slack.

Hope its not too late, but between Matt and I, we will certainly be able to confuse you with rig settings at the Wildcat .
