During the spring and fall I make 2 to 3 week sailing trips down the inside coast of Baja, camping on shore at night, some times I will be sailing for 6 hours at a time so I would like to make some kind of back support, any one have any thoughts? thanks

Bill

Bill,
I'd also like the idea of adding wings to a P18. Here is a photo that was in a Prindle 18 "for sale" ad a while back. Not sure if those are Performance Catamaran wings or not.

I bought a set of the Performance wings for my Prindle 18 and they are actually pretty nice. I liked them enough, I kept them for my 18-2. You install some hard rubber sockets in the crossbars, then the wings slide into them. I found that they aren't really designed for performance (like the Hobie 17), because the angles just seem a little 'off'. Also, the frame pieces for the wings just slide into eachother and really need to be riveted for rigidity. They are cheaper than the Hobie wings, but $1100 still hurts! It's the only way I can get my wife on the boat...

I run into the same thing Dan.

Tad's GF - "I'd never want to sail on a cat that didn't have wings."

Wonder what she's gonna say when I stick her as crew on the tboat.

I have a set of wings on my P19 and love them. I bought it with the wings.
