G'day Matt it looks like a Windrush to me, if the rags sitting on it are the sails it's not worth considering, you should be able to buy one that's been looked after for that price

I dont think it is a wind rush. Notcie the square frame beam setup unlike th windrush. My scout group has the boat and We would like to know what type of cat it is.

Some additional details:

-No Daggerboards (Boat has not slots for dagger boards)
-Apears to have 4 stays
-Apears to be a Mainsail only (posibily a spinnaker)
-Possibly has A trap setup

Thanks

Matt Warne

12 foot windy, not to be confused with the 14 foot windrush. we still dont have any cougar cats in Oz.

if you look at the rear beam of the cougar, it is different structure supporting it.

Agreed, 12 ft Surfcat made by Windrush.
I used to chase them up for our sailing club years back.

They were a lot of fun and really good for youngsters to give sailing a go. It was nearly as much fun watching them sail them with all the games that we devised that they could play to learn boat handling skills as actually sailing them.

We ended up with a fleet of 7.
Back then we were picking them up for around $400 ea but I did have to make new sails for all of them.

I know that the voices in my head aint real,
but they have some pretty good ideas.
There is no such thing as a quick fix and I've never had free lunch!

Surfcat or Cougar cat - maybe the hemisphere has influence, but the fact remains... no cougar I know would go sailing on that boat - a Viper 16 perhaps :-)
