I recently bought a spin that's a few years old but new never used for a project boat. The patches have the webbing like I'm used to seeing but there is nothing to attach the retrieval line to. My other boat has little SS rings to thread the line through. The webbing is pretty tight to the patch so threading the line through them doesn't seem like an option. Any way besides having a sailmaker remove the webbing and adding the rings and then resewing? Or is the retrieval line supposed to go thought the webbing? Seems like there would be a lot of friction doing this. Only sail guy near me is good but is crazy expensive, charged $350 to sew a Dacron batten pocket on a sail..

Attached is a picture of one of the patches.

run the line through the webbing and tie off to the top webbing. Spray some McLube on the webbing and it will work fine.
