Posts: 502 Port Noarlunga, SA, Australia | Hi all, it seems that it isn't common knowledge I sold Bullet a couple of months ago. The new owner will identify himself soon I am sure.
A lot of people helped me over the years to become a better catamaran sailor, I cant name and thank everyone who did, its a long list but trust me, I remember.
I sold my boat because I became worn down by a few people who are like cancer to the sport of sailing, I will remember them too.
On the whole though it was a definitely a positive experience and I encourage anyone thinking of buying a catamaran to consider a Mosquito at any level, a $500 boat all they way through to a new one. The learning curve may be steep, hand skills may need to be acquired but you will get help from the class and plenty of it if you ask.
Thank you guys, Darryn I am going to destroy my login/password, I dont want to be a has been who hangs around dispensing dribble, just aint me.
At this point I am not planning on continuing to race in any other class, that would just put me back in contact with those who are ruining the sport in SA. | | | Re: Goodbye Mozzy class

Posts: 182 Grafton, NSW | Hi Darryn,
Sorry to see a good sailor leave the sport. I hope you find fulfillment in whatever endeavor you choose post-sailing.
If you ever get a hankering for pulling on the sheets again the Mossie competition will still be there and as you know the Mossie fraternity is probably the most welcoming of all classes.
Best wishes, Greg.

Posts: 858 Victoria Australia | Always a gut wrenching experience when one decides to walk away from a passion, especially when its the result of others actions. Holding both state and national titles in other sports and having left those sports for reasons similar to your own experience, I can safely say time heals the wounds far quicker than one would expect and the adventure of a new passion soon leaves the bad taste behind with those that continue to infect the others that have remained to take your place..... I've returned to sailing after a ~30year absence , the circle is 'complete' good luck on your journey Yar, & this ere post be done without a sin'le drop o' rum passin' me lips
Kingy started with Impara Cadet #3 / Mosquito #245 & now Mosquitos #1182 & #1740 | | |
