Was chatting about this idea that probably isn't worth implementing but wondering if it would be class legal. Instead of timing the pull on the upf*cker during the bareaway when it deloads, charge a heavy duty bungie http://www.downwindmarine.com/Straps-Heavy-Duty-Rubber-with-S-Hooks-p-90890064.html under the tramp so you pull the line on the reach, it is pulling up and cleated with tension on but you focus on driving and as you bear away it pops the board as soon as it deloads. Crazy?

It would probably pop the board up every time you tack

Yes, the idea would be to preload on rounding before the offset or on the reach so as you round it would pop when deloaded.

Sounds like a good way to jettison an unworthy crew smile

Seriously though, its an interesting idea, but one that would be really really tough to get right. I think there would be way to much variation in forces involved.
