Headed over to Fort Myers in a couple of weeks from Daytona Beach and need some help.

Need to know of places to launch and possible mast up overnight storage. Only able to plan on two days of sailing so if I had to I can step the mast each day.
Just hoping for some local information to be able to get out to Sanibel Island and let my girl friend look for shells while I spend the day flying a hull.

thanks in advance, cheers

Where is Tiki when we need him?

If you come up to Punta Gorda or Englewood Beach, I can help.

I regularly launch from the Sanibel Causeway, usually the bayside of the island closer to Sanibel. That is as close as you can get to Sanibel, unless you know of a resort/condo place that will let you keep your boat mast-up. However, not allowed to stay over night at all.

I also know that the Junkanoo Restaurant on Fort Myers beach will let you keep your boat at there site over night, just talk to the jet ski booth and they will set you up. But that is a bit of a drive from Sanibel. Not sure where you plan to stay.

+1 on sanibel causeway. a bit shallow at times, but a quick sail under the bridge and out the pass will get you all along the beachfront.

Toll on sanibel bridge. Can't remember, but maybe $6 for non-residents?

Not sure about mast-up storage.

The Sanibel causeway is good, you just have to watch out for the rocks under the water.

You could also try launching from somewhere on Pine Island, like the Pine Island Commercial Marina. Its open to the public on the weekends.
