I'm looking for an used F18 but unfortunately quite limited in budget. I'm not much familiar with Cirrus B1 model. Can anyone give a short introduction and compare its performance with Hobie-Tiger, Wildcat and Nacra f18 infusion.
Thanks,
Eric

Honestly, any of the boats that have the higher aspect ratio wing mast are reasonably competitive. That started in, what?, 2006/7 about the time the Nacra Infusion went into production. The Hobie Tiger and the original Nacra F18 use a tear-drop shaped mast that seems to have been out-developed.

Thanks for the information and the distinction between the Tiger and Nacra f18 vs. the more modern Wildcat and Infusion. I wonder if you can you position Cirrus B1 on this scale?
Thanks again,
Eric

I've never seen a B1, and I am not aware of one in the USA. But, from what I can see in pictures and read online. I would put it between the Infusion and the Nacra F18. I guess it has a wing mast, however its hulls seem to have less volume in the sterns than the current designs.

I was impressed with the B1 at the St. Barth Catacup. For an old boat I saw quite a bit of it towards the back of the 1/3 of the fleet. Boats with thin hulls but decent volume can do well in that St. Barth chop.
If you have questions on it I would contact Manu Bolougne the builder, he will be sure to answer any questions for you. I know he thinks very highly of the B1, as he should since he won a worlds on it.
