I was considering purchasing the single trapeze and tiller extension for my club wave. I've read mixed things about using a trap on a wave because of the size of the sail and boat. Has anyone had experience with this setup , what do you think about it ? I have not used a trapeze on one previous hobie and would like to start now.

Even in the high winds... hiking is all that is really needed on a Wave. The rig is pretty small. Trapeze for the Wave was originally designed as a training device for kids/crew. The rig is too far forward for comfortable single handed trapping I believe.
