RE: 2004 Atlantic Coast F18 Challenge
The North American Formula 18 Class announces the Atlantic Coast F18 Challenge. Two F18 Championship Series will combine to form the event in 2004.
The Southern Area F18 Championships will take place at the notorious Spring Fever Regatta in Lake Hartwell Georgia over Easter weekend, April 9-11th. Sailors can enjoy three days of racing, great food, adult beverages and more fun than you can shake a hot-stick at.
Next in the series is The East Coast F18 Championships hosted by he Sandy Hook Sailing Club in Sandy Hook New over the Labor Day weekend, September 3-5th. This event will be an exclusive F18 event that includes a one day distance race.
In brief, sailors can participate in one or both of regattas. Each event will be scored separately and winners will be given the title of an “East Coast F18 Champion” or “Southern Area F18 Champion. To be eligible to be awarded an “Atlantic Coast F18 Champ” finish, the sailor must have competed in both events. A more detailed outline of rules, scoring and official NOR’s is soon to come.
