11:00 A.M. this coming Saturday. We are having a distance race in the Gulf. No fees, no registration, no awards, no one prohibited from joining in, haven't decided where we are going to..yet.
Probably be in the 70s with a promise of good wind.
Drag your boat to the beach and lets just go have FUN!

Yes, we're a one design fleet...that design is 2 hulls! On New Years Day our Hangover regatta had 32 boats made up of 21 different cat designs. Yes, 21! And that leaves out at least 5 other designs that usually show up for our races. Don't dispair, we had 3 I-20s, 3 Taipans, Nacras 5.2, 5.5, 5.8 and 6.0, a bundle of the "H" word, and yet we also have the weirdest collection of old boats, all in top fighting shape! When was the last time you saw a Trak 16 beat a SuperCat 15? We have Darts, Prindles, G-Cats and Mysteres of every flavor. Whatever boat you sail, we probably have one here you can race against.
Rather than one-design exotic Indy car racing sailing round and round in silly circles, we are more like the Baha 1000 with a fleet of tough and varied boats driven by a fearless group of beach rats weaving through beautiful intercoastal islands in our quest for glory…simply finishing is often enough, simply sailing is joy enough. OK, winning is pretty cool, too.
We're in deep winter here and so our impromptu Saturday Drag Race will be a bracing 70 degrees with winds predicted at 15. Why wait until retirement? Give up the frigid north. Florida’s the spot if you’re a cat sailor.
Sorry for the silly talk, I’m just hot to sail on Saturday! See you at the Causeway where the season never ends.
