Could be a deal if you happen to be a fiberglass expert or own an Infusion starboard hull.

Wow! Anyone know the story behind that one? A little inspiration from BAR racing?

That can be repaired, but not easily. Only one shop on the East Coast I would trust with that job, and you are looking at a $4k+ repair bill. Good luck trying to get an individual hull.

Agreed! In the vein of "anything is possible", yeah, that could be repaired...but it's not worth it.

An experienced home-builder could repair this with a lot of TLC for max 500 bugs material!

Yes, you can do a clean repair job and probably be close to weight. That is not a trivial repair however, and you have no access to the inside of the hull. To do it right costs $4k in materials and labor. Lets call it it $500 for material, leaving $3500 for labor. At $80/hr, that works out to a weeks work (44 hours) for a professional. I'd also be skeptical of the seams on that hull, and I would go ahead and tape those from the outside since it needs a bottom job anyway. Then you are still stuck with outdated boards.

we have a local hard charger who accidentally .... ripped a few feet off the bow of his mystere 6.0 during a pitchpole in shallow waters.

He repaired it - with the help and guidance of Catman - looks perfect - sails fast - weight ? unknown but i would think he gained a few lbs at least...

I assure you yours was not worse. It was bad, but not worse. And those pop-sickle sticks are heavenly for repairs ;-)

Dude - make carbon fiber popsicle sticks and sell them on e-bay. You could be the next Gougeons!
