This is about 100nm of some of the best sailing that there is. The event is 3 days...sort of a mini tybee500...great prep for bigger events. It takes place on Lake Ontario, in Canada and we sail around the county of Prince Edward which is right across the lake from Rochester. Its a 1 hour drive west of Kingston where CORK is held. The wind conditions here are absolutely fantastic. The water temp is in the low 70s. A crash boat will follow the fleet for safety. Last year was a trial run and it was the best sail we had all year. Its mostly flat water.

For 2006 we anticipate 12-15 boats, with a strong f18 fleet.
Guys, this is not that far a drive..9 hours from New York City, 5 hours from Detroit, 3 hours from Rochester. 9 hours from Boston..

Did you say you guys were having one in 2006? Would it be possible to charter a boat?

Yes the event is going on this year. We hope to have 12-15 boats, and we are getting to be a favourite event on the local circuit. We don't have any charter boats, but I will see if we can figure something out. The date this year is August 5,6,7 2006. (Its a long weekend up here)

This is a roll call for the 3rd annual Around the County this coming weekend, Aug 5,6,7. It promises to be a blast as usual. We haven't been able to entice any US folks yet..How come guys? This is some of the best sailing you will have all year.
