The Great Texas Catamaran Race is already building momentum for 2008. There are already 17 teams listed as possible or committed.
Rumor has it that there will be one or two small rule changes to make the different classes of boats a little happier for '08.
This has been an F18 dominated event in the last few years and it looks like 08 will be no different. There will be a presentation at the F18 N/A's for those of you interested. And you can go to the GT300 website to see what is going on at
www.gt300.com .
If you like some fast spinnaker reaching up a wild and untamed coastline for about 300 miles, then you dont want to miss this one. In 6 years of this race being put on, only 2 boats have dnf'd. All the starts and finishes are LeMans' style just like the Tybee 500. Some of the checkpoints have camping available to save on $$. In fact, I think anyone with a motorhome can sleep at all the stops.
See ya'll at the starting line in June.
