Hey everyone,

I just wanted to remind everyone that the Indian Summer Regatta at Lake Waccamaw, NC is about three weeks away! It is set to take place October 13-14. Please come join us for some great racing, an awesome BBQ and Fried Chicken Dinner with all the fixin's, and some good ole' camaraderie. Last year's regatta brought out over 30 (mixed) boats.... let's get 40 or more there this year!

We were fortunate to not have sustained major damage during Florence, and we plan to continue with the regatta as scheduled. We may or may not not have use of our pier (inspection still needed after storm), but we still have two launching ramps and plenty of beach and rigging areas for the cats. Three boats makes a class, and we will at the very least have separate starts for high and low Portsmouth boats.

The NOR and registration/online payment can be found here:

Early registration would be a huge help in planning, but even a reply with your interest, #of dinner tix and shirts, and shirt sizes would be helpful.

Feel free to message me with any questions.

Unfortunately, we have decided to cancel this year's Indian Summer Regatta scheduled for October 13-14, 2018. After an assessment of the sailing club we do not feel that we can safely host an event nor can we feel confident putting sailors on the water. There is still a concern of submerged debris, and the club is in need of repairs that will likely exceed the time period we have remaining. In addition, many of our members were severely impacted by this storm.

We were able to get quite a bit accomplished on a short-notice workday over the weekend, but the fact of the matter is that there is still much to be done. Hurricane Florence was a very significant event for the Lake Waccamaw community and surrounding areas, but we will recover and continue to be the hub of sailing activity on the lake.

We hope to see everyone in 2019!
