Set your forum to show post for the last month, goto page 4 and I had listed a question similar to yours and got some good response about different systems, including that one. Good luck!

Nope! I had one and it didn't work for me. I weigh 150 lbs. as well and the only thing that has worked for me is Gary's Solo-Righting system. Now mind you if you used a water bag with the power righting system by Rick White it will most likely work solo but I think if you buy a pole you shouldn't need to use a bag. With two people the Power-Righting system will work as well as Gary's Solo-Righting system. I did extensive testing with both because I do Trapseat sailing and many times the disAbled skipper can not help out. Also the Power Righting pole sticks out over a foot beyond the rear cross beam, I am told you can cut it shorter but if you do that you will have even less leverage. Gary's system does not stick out pass the rear cross beam. No slam intended against Rick's system it just didn't work for my applications. I must add with Gary’s system you will need help from the wind to solo it with a person at 150 lbs. or less. But with Rick’s system it still did not work for me with wind assistance. I think basically the reason Rick’s system did not work for me is due to the fact that the pole mounts on the center of the front cross beam (equal distance between each hull) but with Gary’s system the pole mounts on the lower hull (temporarily) so there must be a leverage difference (obviously). I also think the unique design of the H16 may be an issue as compared to other cat designs.

i tried to get info about gary's system. he seems to have taken it out of production to further develop it. he discussed some interesting variations like using an oar for the pole. i hope he offers his system again soon, i am very interested- i dont like the idea of needing to be rescued in the event of a capsize!
