still like 8. The add'l cost on a 4" logo for the hulls will be very minor. The swoosh thing on 4 reminds me a bit of memorial day on the beach... not that there's anything wrong with that! plus, what we pick will wind up on a web site somewhere.

vote on it?

Jake,
I can change them to whatever colors they want. You would just need to let me know what files works best for you, resolution, size and CYMK or RGB etc etc.

I can pretty much give you whatever you need.

Guys, just let me know which one(s) you want or if something needs to be tweeked.

Not that it matters - but I like 8 best too.

What would #8 look like with a black "14"? I like them all!- it won't be too much trouble to make it that way. For sake of comparison, I listed them all here: (I'm STILL leaning to #4)

#3: [Linked Image] #4: [Linked Image] #5: [Linked Image] #6: [Linked Image] #8: [Linked Image]

Jake,
I am at home now and I don't have the files here. I'll make the 14 on the 8 black tomorrow and post it.

Jake,
Doesn't multicolors cost more. And when the sun hits the sail no one can see colors anyway. It would seem to me that it would be easier and more economical to have all black, all blue, or whatever, and stamp them out.

Jake, I'm with you. I like #4, only because the parts are separate and they can all be made black if necessary. As I mentioned to Tracie, if you put a color on a colored sail, the colored part may just disappear into the colored background. Black is the only thing that would totally stand out no matter what color the sail is. #4 could be done either way, color or black.

Don't the NAF-18s and the F-20s in Europe just have a small logo on the hulls? Do we need something on the sail?

My vote's a small #8 on the hull - leave the sail for the manufacturer or sail loft or sponsors if you have one...

The rules only require a small identifying logo near the clew of the mainsail and a measurement sticker near the beam on the inside of the hull. Most builder don't put F18 or F20 logo's on hulls or sails and often only use their own brand logo in the high part of the sail.

The two stickers are supplied with a valid measurement form.

Hey Tracie -

Am I crazy? I swear I remember the NAF-18 sticker being on everyone's stern, not on the sail...

You are not crazy.
The NAF18 stickers are affixed to the hull near the stern. I might also add that they are in color.
No logos on sails, just a stamp for certification is on the sails.

It makes a LOT more sense to put it on the hull -- especially since some people may have several different sails.

Maybe we can affix a 4x6" sticker to the sails at 24" up from the clew and 18" in from the leech? Some of our hulls are pretty small in the stern. I'm going to put a full logo on the sail up high for all to see!

With Tracie's 3 logos, I like the one with the purple swoosh!

Jake, what would be the best size for that one around the 4x6 size. And of course, a much larger one for a big sail logo?

another idea here.
there doesn't seem to be a rule of where to put a class insignia, or if there has to be one at all.
a good logo should still look good in 1 color though.
this one is proly too complicated, but i like the idea of 2 bars.
