Posts: 591 Bradenton, FL | Do you feel there is a market for a boat like the Reynolds 21? Basically a 6-7 meter (20-23')long, 4-4.5 meter wide (13-15'), demountable camp-cruising catamaran? Two single bunks in one hull, with storage, galley, and head in the other.

Posts: 591 Bradenton, FL | I'm thinking of something much more high-performance like the R21 or Stiletto 23. Hopefully lighter than 1000lbs though. As much like a giant beach-cat as possible, that 2 people could maybe pull up the beach on Cat Trax.

Posts: 591 Bradenton, FL | How do you right a Stiletto 23? How much does the boat weigh (ready to sail). I've seen two figures listed: 650 and 850 pounds.

Posts: 290 Pensacola, Florida / Katy, Tex... | You right a Stiletto 23 by getting help from a power boat or floating it close enough to shore where you can stand up and walk the mast up using the shroud with someone (rather others) pulling from the other side like you do any small cat. The boat has a 14 foot beam and a 36 foot mast. The problem when you flip is -- the boat starts to cant from stern to bow, because the hatches leak (they never were meant to be air tight) and the back of the hull fills up with water. It keeps floating, because there is a bulkhead at the main beam (one with the dolphin striker) and the front of the hull stays basically air tight and dry. I had one for about 4 years ('84 -'88). Mine weighed about 750# and was pretty good for racing. I had some fantastic sailing and great fun on that boat. It was probably my favorite of all that I've owned.
